There is no denying the importance of exercise for a healthy and long life. However, like a lot of people, it may be that you just don’t have the time or inclination to head to the gym. Going out for a run or a cycle only seems attractive when the weather is nice and on top of all that you have a busy social and work life to fit any workout time around.
If you feel like so many others – like you are stuck in a rut and are not really sure how to move forwards so you can work out and lose weight or build muscle to the extent you want to, have you given thought to investing in an exercise machine? We understand your apprehension at the mention of exercise equipment designed for the home. But, trust us, a lot has changed and he NordicTrack FS7i FreeStride Trainer is a sterling example of how sophisticated even residential models can be these days.
What makes the NordicTrack FreeStride FS7i so special? It is a well-designed and robust elliptical that combines the functionality of three different exercise machines in one. Rather than it being just an elliptical, it can give you the experience of working out on a treadmill and stepper machine too. The NordicTrack branding is a great indicator that this is better than the average trainer. In this review, we are going to highlight some of the awesome features the company have kitted the FS7i with.
As well as the versatility of having three machines at your fingertips, the FS7i also offers a stunning array of special features that can help to enhance your exercise routines. Customization is obviously very important these days and that is something you get with this machine. Let’s look at some of these features in greater detail.
iFit Live Resistance and Incline Control
Like most of the other equipment designed by NordicTrack you get the benefit of full iFit compatibility. However, as well as offering you the chance to follow along with the thousands of on demand workouts available through the service, there is an impressive degree of interactivity on offer thanks to the Live Resistance and Incline Control.
Basically, the machine is controlled by the workouts, meaning that all you need to do is keep up and the incline and resistance will change as and when is necessary.
Intuitive Auto-Adjustable Stride
Whereas many of the top models on the market offer you the option to easily adjust your stride with just the press of a button, NordicTrack have gone one step better with the FS7i FreeStride. With this machine you don’t even need to press a button, you simply adjust your stride, making it bigger or smaller and the machine will follow your movements. The stride can be adjusted from 0 through to 32-degrees, so there is lots of flexibility.
This feature is where the three-in-one aspect of the machine comes into play.
7-inch Smart High Definition Touchscreen
Given the cutting-edge and interactive technology used on this machine, it is perhaps not surprising that NordicTrack have taken no shortcuts to providing a suitably crisp and clear smart touchscreen as the display. The 7-inch high definition monitor is boosted by built-in speakers at either side with digital amplification. If that wasn’t enough, there is also an adjustable tablet holder and auxiliary music port to plug your MP3 player or smartphone in to play your favorite tunes and workout playlists.

Excerpt from Nordic Track website: “Banish workout monotony. With studio sessions to global workouts and even cross-training options like yoga and full-body sculpting, your options are limitless.”
So you can rest assure that your workouts aren’t going to be monotonous
We started this review by noting how much real life can get in the way and stop you from working out. Although working out at home would still require some discipline and you would need to work around your other commitments, we can’t imagine a better compromise than one that includes the NordicTrack FreeStride FS7i Trainer. It has its downsides, like anything else, but it’s the great things about this machine that really make it stand out from the crowd. Interactive, intuitive and offers one hell of a workout.
